About West Coast FM 107.7

West Coast FM 107.7 is a commercial radio station with the preferred format of adult contemporary music. This is an easily-listening, middle of the road music selection that has made WCFM the popular choice for the economically active west coast audience.

The company also produces top quality and cost-effective radio advertisements for companies entering the radio advertising market. WCFM also specializes in Community Projects based at the Coast and all major events in and around the Coast.

West Coast FM is the brainchild of well-known Namibian radio personality Scharl Moller who first identified the need for a radio station at the coast in 2006. Swakopmund and Walvis Bay had until then been forced to rely on radio stations broadcasting from Windhoek and coastal residents indicated a need for a station they could call their own.

The West Coast FM footprint extends outwards from Swakopmund to include Walvis Bay, and the surrounding areas of Arandis and Henties Bay.

West Coast FM transmits 24 hours a day on 107.7 MHz. Show formats include live shows, and topics include actuality, sport and entertainment, with regular news bulletins.

The target range for listeners range from teenagers to retirees, and projections indicate an audience of approximately 60 000, which increases considerably during the holiday season.

“West Coast FM is a young, dynamic and fast-growing radio station, and we foresee a not too distant future where the whole coastal region no longer need to tune in to any radio station other than their own!“ Scharl Moller, Owner.
